Welcome to Makoa Farm

We welcome you to our farm house, in the middle of a coffee estate on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A stay on our farm is an adventure in itself, wether your safari is based around our estate or you use the farm to acclimatize from your trip to Tanzania and to relax after wonderful safari. Horseriding safaris give you the ultimate outdoor feeling of being in the wild, whilst not being confined to the inside of a safari vehicle. Please first familiarise yourself with the concept of horse riding safaris by having a look at our 'Info and Experience levels' page, which will help you decide what type of safari best suits your riding experience, to maximise the pleasure you get out of your experience.

Our itineraties can roughly be split up in two types; first there are the 'Horseriding on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro'; from a half day ride around our Makoa farm to an 8 days holiday with different rides every day. These are suitable for riders of any level of experience.

Secondly, there's our 'Horseback riding safaris and African trail rides'. Designed for intermediate to advanced riders, these are multi day safaris into the African outback, bringing you in contact with unspoilt nature and big game.
